Rant: Parents teaching kids poor habits.

A few days ago I was loading my daughter and groceries into the car when I spied a vehicle a couple parking spots down from me. It was a rusty white Saturn with a family of obese people in it, eating fast food.
After they started the car the father, whom was the driver, threw all the fast food paraphernalia out onto the parking lot! Not only seconds later the kids did the exact same thing!
Now what the hell! I was so dumbfounded I even said "what the hell" so loud that it had to have echoed through the large parking lot. They look at me, questioning my look while they drove off as if "I" offended them! They seriously think they did nothing wrong, nor even noticed the fact they just taught their children one really nasty habit that can destroy our earth.

So I not only have one but two bones to pick about these people:
-I do not feel bad for the parents weight gain; the sole fact that living on fast food is not healthy to begin with, thus they, themselves, made the sole decision to live that junk food life style was no one's problem but their own. And when you think about it, you will realize that these people are going to raise our health insurance policies because they don't take care of themselves and expect other people (and medication/surgeries) to do it for them.
-The second issue at hand is their children. These kids are our future and they copy us, whether you notice it or not. Watching these kids throw trash out the car window was just showing proof that these people don't care about anyone but themselves. They don't recognize the environment we have at stake which is something we all have to take credit for. The parents are also introducing these children to poor diet habits which will most likely stick with them for the rest of their lives, to then which will also rise the cost of every one's health insurance, including yours and mine.

I know this is a one sided and naive rant but personally, I would say that type of parent should be warned by both CPS and Mother Nature. I wish they would at least get a visit from Social Services to scare them, or/and be shocked by the voltage from a lightning bolt so that Earth's deteriorating atmosphere will get the point across?
And I can't say I am a perfect parent either because no one is. But after witnessing that I too am going to make some changes for my daughter and I! Our children need to live a healthy life in a healthy environment and that is the most important thing us humans need to focus on, don't you think?

  1. These are the people you see in the welfare lines, they are the 5% of people that will never get it, maybe we can help their children maybe we can't but if we make sure our children live up to a standard then we did our part.
